We hired a sharing houseboat at 7k price, rooms were good, clean, with nice fan, tv, washroom and Window. Staff was friendly. But in day time,it was humid weather in noon and ac were allowed only in night from 9pm to 6am. So stay inside room was difficult in day time and fan was not sufficient. We went in upper deck with some relief. Lunch, dinner and next day breakfast was well served with veg and nonveg choices. Most boring part was in evening, at around 5:30pm boat was put in a stall till morning, with nothing much to do and no ac also. We went outside for 5-6km for roam around. Night stay was cool. Early morning trip back to base was superb with cold fussy calm weather. So a relaxed trip overall.

We stayed one night on the houseboat. The houseboat was clean and the room surprisingly comfortable. The food provided was good. We travelled up the backwater and moored at night. An amazing array of birds could be spotted. We walked through one of the villages experiencing the ‘real India’. We saw the rice sacks being loaded from the boats onto lorries.

We shared with 3 other people. En suite Cabins were surprisingly big and comfortable - with a/c. Not for the over energetic that want to get to places. This forces you to sit back and lounge on the day beds a la Cleopatra while gently chugging up the river past rice paddies, local villages, temples and Christian churches . Helpful if you have a knowledgable "captain that can point out sites of interest Food was average but tasty.

A great trip sitting back & enjoying the scenery as people were going about there business, & giving a wave out. Had a cabin on the top deck, so pleasant views from the room. Our room was abit "Green" with bedhead & ceiling in quite a vibrant green, but something different to enjoy!!!!!. Meals on board were adequate, we had lunch-evening meal-& breakfast, Perhaps one problem with our cabin was the bathroom. Shower was between the toilet & vanity and not separated by a screen so dangerous with a wet floor Fan's & air-con for evenings for the heat
